A Flexible Payment Gateway
Coastal Secure is a versatile Internet payment processing gateway designed specifically for businesses that do recurring billing. It consists of an authorizing web site combined with an internal settlement function.
The payment authorizing web site may be linked to the merchant’s web site for account look up of customer information. After account look up the customer is connected and account number and balance data is forwarded to the Coastal Secure authorizing site.
If the merchant web site does not have account lookup capability Coastal Secure can receive billing files and provide account look up for a small additional hosting charge.
Upon reaching the Coastal Secure payment authorizing site transactions may be created in 4 different ways:
- Customer entered single payment.
- Merchant entered single payment.
- Customer entered set up of recurring payments.
- Merchant entered set up of recurring payments.
The payments may be made in two ways:
- Credit card – there is a real time authorization for the amount of the current bill, or if nothing is due $1.00 is authorized to verify that the card is valid.
- Electronic debit to a checking account.
Recurring payments are billed when merchants enter billing data through the Coastal Secure web site. Following settlement of one time or recurring payments merchants receive transaction reports by email. They may also download them from the web site.
